Our mission as a 501(c)(3) non-profit is to introduce the thrills and lessons of flight to the visually impaired of our community.
Our Facilities
Our homebase location for operation is Hamilton Municipal Airport (KVGC), with access to hangar space and flight base of operations to prep our passengers. Furthermore, we have experience and relationships with numerous airports in the Central New York region, and beyond. We can travel to you to share this unique experience. No charge!
Our Pilots
Our pilots are Mike Magnusson, John Williams, Julie Frazier, Mary Ferreira, and Theodore Williams. These pilots are certified for flight with currency and proficiency.

My name is Jaron Barber. I am a student at Cambridge Central School and am visually impaired. I have been interested in aircraft since I was a little kid. I was very excited to hear about this great opportunity. John flew down to a small air field near where I live and we got to fly over my town and got to feel what it’s like to be in the sky again! I hope many more people get to have the experience that I did!

My daughter is visually impaired and attended Function Better Camo this week, ended the week with envision flight. Nicolette was nervous to go up in the air but John was Great and Taxied us around the run way, answered all her questions and was just very pleasant. We can’t wait to come back next year. !!!

Envision Flight is an amazing organization that educates children and adults about the dynamics of flight. Participants are able to touch and explore the plane, ask questions and guide their experience in a way that makes the experience comfortable for them. From sitting in the pilot seat while the plane is off, to taxing on the runaway or taking their first flight, those with vision loss set the parameters of their experience.
John and his team are top notch!

The Envision Flight team recently hosted a group of our students, all of whom have varying degrees of vision loss. John and his team went above and beyond to make each student feel comfortable, supported, and empowered to fully engage in the experience. They took the time to answer every question, describe the steps required to prepare and fly a plane in detail, and ensure that each participant could experience the thrill of flight in a way that was both accessible and meaningful.
The passion and dedication of the Envision Flight team was evident in every interaction. They didn’t just provide a program-they provided an experience that our students and their families will remember for a lifetime. Thank you to John and his team for making this experience truly unforgettable!

John has created something truly special with Envision Flight. He made our son feel completely comfortable and included, and watching him so calm in the air, feeling like he was floating, was unforgettable. John called it “cloud surfing” and that’s exactly what it felt like.
What John is creating for kids with vision loss is beautiful, selfless, and important. We are so grateful for the opportunity, and anyone who can support Envision Flight absolutely should.
